It’s not easy to summarize 20 years of UX. Many of the projects I personally led as a designer are listed below. Some I could not share.
For the last decade, I’ve been mainly focused on establishing powerhouse UX teams within enterprise organizations. Each opportunity is different, therefore each solution is different. My experiences of being brought into newly forming and existing UX teams are fascinating. I’d love to share those with you!

Using 4G wireless connectivity, bring engaging content to golf cart screens in an effort to allow golfers access to streaming content that would otherwise prevent them from playing golf.
AIG - Alexa Skill
NEED
Allow insurers the ability to solve common maintenance tasks using an Alexa skill.
PROCESS
An 8-person innovation team was formed (I represented UX) and we were given 90-days to research, design and built a working skill for CES2018.
TD Ameritrade
NEED
Provide firms an upgraded user experience
PROCESS
Research to understand behavior, likes and dislikes of the existing platform. Attended advisor conferences to grow closer to understanding the community. Wireframe > Test > Iterate.
NYC UXPA Presenter - Ready, Set, Design!
I hosted a night for the NYCUXPA to demonstrate a Design Studio Workshop. 90 attendees made it out that night to participate in the fun. Here are some photos and reactions of the night as well as an article written by one attendee.
Dummies.com Homepage Redesign
NEED
Increase engagement with the dummies.com homepage.
PROCESS
Performed a group sketching exercise with internal SMEs to gather a list of requirements/features that we felt would engage our dummies users more. Wireframed the solution and managed the visual design. Ran A/B test of the homepage to track bounce rates. We saw a 7% decrease in drop rate with the new design.
WileyPlus - Fully Adaptive Course
NEED
Investigate the value of a fully adaptive online learning system for higher education.
PROCESS
One-on-one interviews with instructors to gather their understanding and interest in adaptive online learning.
Sketched ideas to being back to instructors.
Interviewed students and instructors to review the sketches.
WileyPlus Gradebook
NEED
Learn how instructors and students use their WileyPlus gradebook.
PROCESS
One-on-one interviews with instructors and students to discover how they use the gradebook now.
Generate a list of top features that would delight the users.
Sketch stimuli to bring back to users to confirm we understood their needs.
Wiley.com Product Page Redesign
NEED
Modernize the product page, including re-IA of the page layout to expose the more important content more prominently.
Dummies B2B Website Redesign
NEED
Increase qualified leads.
PROCESS
Interviewed target users to understand what they would want to learn by visiting the site.
Sketched concepts to to validate with users.
A/B test of concepts in the form of ads on the live dummies.com website.
Used the winning concept/design to inform the redesign.
Wiley Custom Select
NEED
Modernize and update the IA of the Wiley Custom Select product in order to increase usability and interest in the product.
PROCESS
I led a the team who worked on this project.
We began with interviewing users to see what features they use the most. Following that a clickable prototype was created to test the usability, and confirm our decisions.
Creative direction on the final UI design as well.
Wiley Open Access
NEED
Create a product for scientific researchers to publish and consume scholarly work as part of the Open Access initiative.
PROCESS
Interview researchers to understand how they think about Open Access in general. Show then concepts of homepages to gain their reactions.
Iterate on the design and build out a full deck.
Create a prototype and engage researchers in one-on-one research to allow them to click through the product.
